We are pleased to announce the visit of Prof. Matteo Leoni (on picture: 6 f.r) to the our institute on 23-25th of October 2018. He is currently associate professor in Materials Science at the University of Trento, Department of Civil, Environmental and Mechanical Engineering (Italy), Chair of the International Centre for Diffraction Data (ICDD) and consultant for the Commission on Powder Diffraction of the International Union of Crystallography (IUCr). Prof. Leoni is one the most renowned experts in the field of X-ray diffraction and pioneer in the microstructural analysis of engineering materials by means of advanced X-ray diffraction techniques by means of Whole Powder Pattern Modelling, in particular. For further information about Prof. Leoni visit:
During his visit, he will hold a workshop about microstructural analysis by means of advanced X-ray diffraction techniques. During this, Prof. Leoni will give an overview of his areas of expertise and the atendees will have the opportunity to learn how to treat X-ray diffraction patterns in order to obtain microstructural information, such as lattice defects and crystalline domain size in engineering materials”
This activity is supported by “GradUS global” – promoted by the German Academic Exchange
Service and funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research.
